Kentucky Branch Convention The 2009 Kentucky
Branch Convention was held October 2nd, 2009 at the Kosair Headquarters.
Kosair Hospital was a hospital created in the early 1920's for children
with polio. Over the years it has grown into a myriad of entities serving
children in the area with many disabilities.
The teddy bears in the picture were brought by members from all over the Kentucky Branch. Kosair gives them to the local police department who, in turn, gives them to children in difficult situations, abuse, parents being arrested. It gives the children something to hold on to.
Former University of Louisville and Utah Jazz basketball player, Darrell Griffin, who spoke to the gathering about the "Be a Star" program for autistic children.
Branch President, Helen Stoner, addressing the convention body. This was Helen Stoner's second year of her first term. |
