An open door policy is a wonderful thing, except when you would really like an actual door to close and remain so. We have 3 doors in the museum in Benedict House that offer a true challenge. One door will not close nor open – because there is only a hole where the handle should be; one door will open and never close as the door mechanism is completely dysfunctional and one door opening does not have a door. So, given that we now have our houses completely open to the public we are going to fix all those doors securing our museum. Yes, the miracle of the modern door handles is coming our way. It will take patience, the right tools and pieces and a little bit of muscle. I thank God that the Building Committee brings all of this and more.
