Thirty-three degrees, but it is a relaxing morning at my lakeside home while getting my coffee fix and reading my devotional. Is it just me, or do you notice how timely the devotional messages are as we are sheltering at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic? Today’s Upper Room devotion cast a light on Galatians 5: 22-23. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
After quietly pondering and prayerfully talking with God, I decide it is time to get another cup of coffee, my third, but who’s counting? As I went into my little galley kitchen, the sun-catcher I have hanging in the window above the sink catches the sun and shines rainbows all around my counter tops and ceiling. You may be interested to know that I made this sun-catcher at our Branch convention when Jan Laude, Vice President of Spiritual Life, gave a special project demonstration and speech.
After enjoying God’s reflective light and the good memories it evoked, I read my final devotion from “Morning with Jesus.” God’s light is back on! The Bible reference was Acts 10: 4. Your prayers and your compassionate acts are like a memorial offering to God. Again, another timely devotion. During this very stressful time for the world, I know that the heart of IOKDS continues to shine God’s light flooding the communities where we live and work with compassionate acts of kindness and demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit In His Name. I know that the heart of IOKDS is in constant prayer with God, and that will never cease. God’s light will shine brighter because of it! May God bless and keep you secure.
