Get into God

Get into GOD’s Word so that it can get into you!

Do we shy away from really studying GOD’s Word?  Do we just read what others say about the Word or get in there and dig for meaning ourselves?

To paraphrase James 1:21 Get rid of all moral filth and evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.  Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.

We need to have a plan and the materials for its execution.  Do you have a dedicated place and time to be with The Lord in His Word?  That is the first step.  Then we need a Concordance, a book with maps, perhaps a Bible dictionary, a notebook, and even a hymnal.  These things will be needed as we mine the meaning of the verses.

Remember, the Bible is the only book that you will read where the author is present with you when you read it.  The SPIRIT is our teacher.  He has promised to help us to understand and to live out GOD’s Word.  He will give us whatever understanding we need for every situation in life.

Ps 119:18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.

Open your Bible with the expectation that you will find a truth that you can live out.  Know that it will sustain you for the day and keep you in the night.  Find a key verse each day and commit it to memory.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

GOD gave us His Word as a love gift, just as He gave us His Son.  That He would do so much for us constantly humbles and amazes me.  That JESUS would step out of Heaven and take our place on the Cross is beyond comprehension but accepted with great love and adoration for Him.

JESUS knew GOD’s Word and quoted it often.  It was His weapon during Satan’s attacks.  If He needed it and hid it in His heart, how much more do we need to do so?

If you have been in the Word daily keep up the good work, if not start today.  You will be blessed beyond measure.
