Outdoor Granite Bench-Week 1, Dedication, June 27 – July 4, 2020
A grey polished granite bench will be engraved with the celebration dates and the IOKDS logo and will be placed near the bus stop outside Florence Hall. It will be a weather-resistant, permanent installation and will provide welcome seating for those waiting for the bus. The cost of the bench and installation will be provided through the Celebration 2020 Capital Campaign.
Chautauqua Scholarship Program Memory Book Project
Week 4- Tea & Book Presentation, July 18 – July 25
If you were a class member or on staff of the Chautauqua Scholarship Program, we invite you to send a short, written memory of your time. What impact did this experience have on you then? What lasting effect has it had? All submissions will become part of the permanent collection in our IOKDS Museum, and some will be selected in whole or in part, to be printed in our Chautauqua Scholarship 1920-2020 Memory Book. Reunion Week -Week 5, July 25 – August 1
While IOKDS members are welcome in our houses throughout many weeks of the summer, priority access to our houses during Week 5 will be for former Chautauqua scholars and staff. IOKDS Houses are available on a first come, first served basis. Book your stay through our on-line booking system, www.iokds.org Vacation in Chautauqua. The Scholar Memory book will be on display in our Benedict House, second floor museum. Book your room now!
IOKDS Heritage Lecture -Week 5, July 25 – August 1
The history of the IOKDS at Chautauqua will be presented through an entertaining lecture held in our IOKDS Chapel. Refreshments will be served. This event will be advertised through The Chautauqua Daily and all are welcome.
Sacred Song Service (to be confirmed)-Week 5, July 25 – August 1
A request has been submitted to the Chautauqua Department of Religion to have the Week 5 Sunday evening Sacred Song Service focus on the IOKDS. We suggested using the hymns of Fanny Crosby, a prolific hymn composer and IOKDS member.
Clergy Renewal Week – Week 6, August 1 – August 8
Clergy will be invited to participate in a small event.
