Devoted to Fellowship

Do we not long for more fellowship in this crisis?  Even not in crisis?  GOD wants us to do life together!   Social ties keep us healthy.  In this isolation, we need to reach out to each other in notes, calls, and yes even electronically.

We must invest in each other.  Energy is required to have strong relationships.  We must get beyond acquaintances.

Relationships build character.

Prov 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,

Early in Genesis, GOD noted that mankind should not be alone.  From that we see that relationships are GOD’s design for us.

Relationships strengthen and heal us.

James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Our relationship with CHRIST sanctifies us.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Relationships sharpen us.

Prov 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Eccl 4:9 Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor.

10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion, but woe to him who is alone when he falls,

For he has no one to help him up.

Relationships require risk.  We fear rejection or being hurt.

Therefore, we commit them to CHRIST.
