Learn & Discern with Us

June 21, 2020 – July 26, 2020

The International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons (IOKDS) believes that our summer internship can impact the course of your life.

Experiencing work in the non-profit world and experiencing the role of faith in creating positive change is an incredible way to discern your future.

Because an internship with us also focuses on living and working among a diverse set of people and perspectives at New York’s Chautauqua Institution, it provides more than a college requirement. It prepares young adults to help heal the world.

Available Internships

120-150 hours; 30 hour work week

Non-paid internships are available in the following areas:

Brand Marketing

Donor Relations

Event Management

Religious Studies

Housing description:

As is traditional for Chautauqua culture, the front porch serves as a living room and gathering place at Benedict House where interns are housed.

The main floor is the IOKDS international headquarters office and kitchen. The Memorial Museum is located on the second floor. Interns share bedroom and bathroom facilities on the third and fourth floors. There is no elevator. This house is not air conditioned, but each room has a fan.

Days are warm, but nights are sometimes cool, requiring a jacket. There is no television because there is always live entertainment and programming. Wi-Fi is available. After 11pm, the Chautauqua community observes quiet time out of respect for others.
